The Association of Water Board Directors – Texas (AWBD) collects and maintains participant information for purposes related to event registration, event participation, and organizational operations. AWBD is committed to protecting the privacy of this information and limiting its disclosure.
Authorized Uses
Information collected by AWBD may be used internally by AWBD staff for administrative, operational, and reporting purposes related to AWBD programs and services.
Sharing with Districts or Companies
Because many participants attend AWBD programs on behalf of their water district, company, or employer, AWBD may, upon request, share certain information with the participant’s associated district or company. This may include:
- Participant registration or training history
- Account access assistance, including resetting login credentials or providing account information necessary for the participant’s district or company to manage employee access.
Districts or companies requesting information about their employees are responsible for the appropriate use and protection of that information once it is provided.
Verification of Attendance and Training
AWBD may verify a participant’s attendance, registration, or completion of AWBD training programs to the participant’s associated district, company, or employer when requested. This verification may include confirmation of attendance dates, course participation, or training hours earned.
Information provided will be limited to what is reasonably necessary to confirm participation in AWBD programs.
Emergency Situations
If a participant is involved in an emergency situation during an AWBD event, AWBD staff may use the participant’s provided emergency contact information to notify the listed contact. This information may also be shared with emergency medical personnel, including paramedics or EMTs, as necessary to assist in providing medical care.
Legal Disclosure
AWBD may disclose information when required to do so by applicable law, regulation, or court order.
Limitation on Disclosure
Except as described in this policy, AWBD does not share participant information with outside individuals or organizations without consent. AWBD does not sell or distribute participant information for marketing purposes.
Policy Administration
This policy may be updated by AWBD administration as necessary to reflect operational or legal requirements.
