Col. Timothy Vail serves as HDR’s Vice President, Water Group
Director for the Texas Gulf Coast, bringing 25 years of experience in coastal resiliency. He previously commanded the Corps of Engineers Galveston District, managing $7.4 billion in projects for coastal and flood risk reduction. Vail also led the Coastal Texas Resiliency and Restoration Study, the largest civil works engineering recommendation in USACE history. His career includes nearly a decade of overseas experience with USACE, overseeing military construction in the Arabian Gulf Region and advising the assistant secretary of the Army for Civil Works. At HDR, he leads the water practice division that is charged with developing and delivering solutions that improve the resiliency of our coastal communities.
